Overview

The White Label Manganese Steel Shrapnel Clip for Heat-Treated Electronic Instrument Panel Devices is a precision spring clip engineered for demanding instrument-panel environments where heat cycles, vibration, and repeated mating require stable clamp force and long fatigue life. Manufactured from heat-treatable manganese-alloy spring steel (e.g., 65Mn / EN10089 grade variants), each clip is produced using high-accuracy progressive stamping and precision forming followed by controlled quench & temper operations and post-process finishing. The result is a resilient, dimensionally stable shrapnel clip optimized for retention, grounding, EMI contact, and mechanical fastening in automotive and industrial electronic instrument panels. OEM white-label customization of geometry, spring characteristics, surface finish, and packaging is fully supported from prototype to high-volume production.

Surface Treatment Options

  • Zinc / Zinc-Nickel Plating: corrosion protection with good solderability and cost balance.
  • Nickel Plating: improved wear resistance and a bright appearance for exposed panels.
  • Tin Plating: excellent solderability for electrical contact surfaces.
  • Black Oxide / Passivation: thin conversion coating for improved corrosion resistance and low reflectivity.
  • Phosphate + Oil / Dry Lubricant: for enhanced run-in behavior and reduced fretting.
  • Selective / Localized Coating: premium coatings applied only to functional contact areas to control cost.
  • Optional Post-Coat Inspection: XRF verification of plating thickness and uniformity.

Quality Assurance

Our QA program for manganese steel shrapnel clips adheres to automotive-grade protocols. Incoming steel is validated by chemical and mechanical testing (material certificates and spectrometry). Dimensional verification uses CMM, optical measurement, and calibrated calipers. Mechanical performance is confirmed by tensile tests, Rockwell hardness testing, spring-force profiling, and fatigue/cycle testing (to customer-specified cycles). Surface integrity is inspected for burrs, plating adhesion (cross-hatch), and coating thickness (XRF). Environmental robustness is validated via salt spray (ASTM B117) and thermal cycling where required. All production lots are traceable with batch codes; full first-article inspection (FAI) packages and PPAP documentation can be supplied for OEM programs.

Factory Show

Our metal-forming facility combines high-speed progressive stamping presses (15–250 tons) with precision CNC forming and automated die-transfer lines to maintain high throughput and part consistency. Tooling is manufactured in-house using CNC machining, wire EDM, and mirror EDM to guarantee die accuracy and rapid iteration. Heat treatment is performed in controlled quench & temper furnaces with oil/quench media and programmable temper ovens to achieve repeatable hardness and mechanical properties; optional cryogenic stabilization chambers and shot-peening cells are available to improve fatigue life. Post-process finishing includes automated tumbling/deburring, selective plating lines, and vision-guided inspection. With SPC monitoring, raw-material traceability, and ISO/IATF quality systems, we deliver white-label shrapnel clips that meet stringent electrical-instrumentation and panel-assembly requirements.
